Payment Gateways

Payment gateways, sometimes called a Card Payment Interface (CPI), are the actual web systems used to take credit card details from your customers. At the point an order requires payment we link up with one of a number of systems to process the payment on your behalf.

These systems then manage the process of securely taking the customer's card details, checking them with anti-fraud systems then report back on the payment to confirm if the payment was taken successfully or not. Our systems have been pre-configured to work securely and efficiently with these payment gateways so the integration into your website, the feedback the customer receives and the reports you get are all totally seamless.

Payment Gateway Charges

Ongoing costs for these systems varies from privder to provider, but they fall into one of two approaches - a flat monthly fee or a per-transaction percentage. Usually the flat monthly fee is more cost effctive however it depends on value of the average online sale and the volume of sales.

SagePay and Secure Trading both offer flat fees which is ususally £20 per month and the other systems listed above are based on a percentage of the transaction value.
